Touch-Up Information for Your Perfect Brows

So you’ve had your first permanent makeup session—congratulations! You’re on your way to effortless, natural-looking brows that save you time and boost your confidence every morning. But if you’re noticing a few light spots or faded areas during healing, don’t worry—that’s totally normal.

Let’s talk about why your touch-up appointment is just as important as the first session.

Why You Need a Touch-Up

The initial PMU appointment is about creating the foundation. Your skin is unique—factors like skin type, medication, healing response, and lifestyle all influence how pigment settles.

That’s why I always recommend a follow-up session 6 to 10 weeks after your initial appointment.

This second visit allows us to:

Perfect the shape

Deepen the color

Fill in any spots where the pigment didn’t fully take

Think of it like the final coat of paint on a beautiful canvas. We’re simply adding polish and balance so your brows last longer and heal beautifully.

What to Expect During the Healing Process

It’s completely normal to experience:

Fading within the first 7–14 days

Light or patchy areas as your skin regenerates

A "brow disappearing act" followed by gradual reappearance (we call this the “ghosting phase”)

That’s why I always say—don’t judge your brows too early! Your final healed look settles in closer to 4–6 weeks after your appointment.

Prepping for Your Touch-Up

Here are a few things to keep in mind before your return visit:

Avoid heavy sun exposure or tanning on your brows

Hold off on any facial treatments near the brow area

Don’t use retinol or exfoliating products around your brows leading up to your touch-up

Continue following your aftercare instructions if you're still in the healing window

And of course—send me a clear photo at the 2-week mark so I can check in on your healing and help you schedule the best time to return.
