Top 5 Things to Know Before Getting an Eyebrow Tattoo

Thinking about waking up with your brows already done? Here’s what you need to know first.

1. It’s Not TrulyPermanent

Despite the name, eyebrow tattoos—whether SoftTap, microblading, nano brows, or combo—are technically semi-permanent. That’s a good thing! They’re designed to fade gradually over time so your look can evolve with you. Most clients need a color boost every 12–24 months depending on skin type, lifestyle, and pigment choice.

2. The Healing Process Takes Time

Your brows will go through several phases as they heal—dark, flakey, light, then soft and natural. This process typically takes about 4–6 weeks, and that’s completely normal. The first session is just the beginning; the perfecting touch-up is where we refine shape, depth, and color.

3. Not All Techniques Are the Same

Choosing the right technique matters. Microblading uses a hand tool to create hair-like strokes, while nano brows and SoftTap use machines for more precision or gentleness depending on your skin. At The Brow Lady, we help you choose the method that best suits your skin type, lifestyle, and desired look—especially if you’re aiming for something natural.

4. Pre-Appointment Prep Affects Results

To get the best results, skip alcohol, caffeine, and certain medications like ibuprofen at least 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid retinol or exfoliating skincare for a week. Why? These can thin the skin or increase bleeding, which affects pigment retention.

5. It’s an Investment in ConfidenceNot Just Brows

Most of our clients come in saying they’re tired of spending 20 minutes every morning trying to match their brows. After the procedure, they leave with more than just great brows—they walk out with confidence, freedom, and a little extra time each day. That’s the magic of well-done PMU.

Still thinking it over?

We get it—it’s a big decision. That’s why we offer consultation sessions and even SoftMap brows (a two-week preview using brow tint + mapping) so you can experience the look before committing.
