Let’s Talk About the Flaking…

One of the most common questions I get after a brow tattoo appointment is:
“How bad is the flaking going to be?”
The short answer?
It’s usually not as bad as people expect.
Let’s break it down:
1. It’s More Like Light Peeling Than Heavy Flaking
Think of it like dry skin or a mild sunburn. Most clients don’t experience dramatic peeling or chunks of skin coming off. It’s typically subtle—tiny flakes or a slight powdery look as the top layer of skin naturally exfoliates.
2. You’ll Still Look Presentable
Many clients go right back to work or out with friends without anyone noticing. The color may look a little patchy during this stage, but with a bit of brow gel or light makeup (if allowed), you can easily get through the flaking phase without stress.
3. It Only Lasts a Few Days
Flaking usually happens between days 3–7 post-procedure. After that, things start to settle, and you’ll notice your brow color softening and evening out over the next couple of weeks.
4. Following Aftercare Helps Minimize It
Proper aftercare makes a big difference. Keeping your brows clean, dry, and moisturized (with the ointment I provide) helps the skin heal evenly and gently.
Final Thought:
Flaking is part of the process, but it’s not the whole story.
It means your skin is healing—and your new brows are settling in underneath. So don’t panic. I’ll walk you through every step so you know exactly what to expect.
